The Basílica de la Sagrada Família is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Designed by one of the most notorious Spanish architects: Antoni Gaudí), his work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The construction of the Sagrada Família began in 1882, but the building is yet to be completed. Gaudi’s masterwork is a hybrid of late Spanish Gothic and Art Nouveau, it is the most visited monument in Barcelona and its main icon.
The Buen Retiro Park is a large and popular 1.4 km2 (350 acres) park at the edge of the city centre. Filled with beautiful sculptures and monuments, galleries, a peaceful lake, and a host to a variety of events, the park is one of Madrid's premier attractions. It is also home of the famous Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace), as name the suggests, a palace almost entirely made of glass and sets in an iron framework.
The Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Córdoba dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and located in the Spanish region of Andalusia. Due to its status as a former Islamic mosque, it is also known as the Mezquita and as the Great Mosque of Córdoba. The mosque structure is regarded as an important monument in the history of Islamic architecture and is considered by many scholars to have been highly influential on the subsequent "Moorish" architecture of the western Mediterranean regions of the Muslim world. It is also one of Spain's major historic monuments and tourist attractions, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984.
The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in 889 CE on the remains of ancient Roman fortifications. It was renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Arab Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls, creating a breathtaking palace with a sophisticated blend of medieval Islamic, Renaissance Christian and modern architectural styles.
Parc Güell is a privatized park system composed of gardens and architectural elements located on Carmel Hill, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The park was built at the beginning of XX century and officially opened as a public park in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under "Works of Antoni Gaudí". Park Güell is the reflection of Gaudí's naturalist art phase, incorporating colourful houses, statues and other monuments within the park.
